The horse has to do his job in a savvy, relish and aesthetic way. Judges score a run on a scale from 60 to 80, and 70 is an average score. For cutting horse competition, horses must be well-trained with top athletic skills that match every move of the cow from head to head.

The premier event of cutting horse is the National Cutting Horse Association World Championship (NCHA). NCHA Futurity offers $2 million with more than 1000 horses competing.
